Brandie June loves storytelling in all sorts of formats and spends her days marketing animated movies. But during her lunch breaks, she is busy writing fantasy novels in coffee shops. Most of her early life, she was on stage—or at least as close to the front row as she could get. Initially an actor, she got her B.A. in Theatre from UCLA, and branched out into costume design and playwriting. She later obtained a M.B.A. from UCLA in Entertainment Marketing.
Awards and Honorable Mentions
Her first stand-alone play, a dark comedy about Oscar Wilde, premiered last summer at the Hollywood Fringe Festival to a sold-out run and won the Encore Producers Award. As a writer, she has a passion for fantasy, receiving two Honorable Mentions from The Writers and Illustrators of the Future.
Brandie’s Forthcoming Works
Brandie is the writer, the mind behind Smooth Talker, an urban fantasy short story, which will be published this month by Alternate History Fiction Magazine (Wolfian Press). Her first novel: one involving a cursed toad and creatures of mythology, is currently being submitted to publishers by her agent, Steven Hutson of WordWise Media Services.
