Topic: Can we opt out of aging? Reversing immunological and epigenetic aging in middle-aged men.
About Dr. Greg Fahy
Dr. Fahy is a low-temperature biologist (cryobiologist) and biogerontologist, an apparently unique combination. In 2009, he reported that a kidney, previously cooled to cryogenic temperatures and then rewarmed and transplanted, was able to sustain the life of the recipient indefinitely. But in 2010, he published an 866-page book entitled The Future of Aging: Pathways to Human Life Extension, reflecting his parallel passion for aging intervention. Circa 2014, he and Robert Brooke started Intervene Immune, Inc. to pursue missed opportunities in human aging intervention. On September 5th, 2019, Aging Cell published the result: the first demonstration that epigenetic aging — the most accurate measure of biological aging currently available — can be safely reversed in normal healthy aging humans. Dr. Fahy will discuss these results and their implications in his talk.
