Jonathan’s Career in Music

Jonathan began playing drums at age 10. He toured with several bands across Canada, the United States, and Jamaica. He received a music diploma in 1994 from the Musician’s Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California. In 1996 he received a Canadian Juno Award for his tracks on the album The Message by Alpha Diallo. In between tours Jonathan began teaching private lessons in 2000 and continues to teach today. 

Written Works

Jonathan began writing fiction in 2010 and self-published his first novel in 2013. Since then he’s received a two-book deal for his Lou Crasher series with Down and Out Books. His first book with D&OB, The Big Crescendo, is due out November 2019 and the follow- up in 2020. Brown also wrote A Boxing Trainer’s Journey…A Novel Based On the Life of Angelo Dundee for Mentoris Books. Kirkus Reviews called it, “A journalistically rigorous depiction of both Angelo Dundee and boxing.” Jonathan has just agreed to pen a second book for Mentoris.
